What We Found on Tuesday morning.

The center looked pretty bad on Tuesday morning. Here is what we found. 

A couple of cars had been literally picked up and washed down the road in the floor waters. 

Fortunately no one was hurt. 

The water rose to 3 feet deep on the outside of the building and about 9 inches deep inside. The water left a water line on the all the outside walls. The water level by the sign was above the "Growing Kids" letters - about 8 feet deep at this point. 

Inside, 9 inches of water may not sound like a lot, but it really is! Especially when all of our classrooms are designed to have most of our materials accessible to young children. Many things got wet and ruined. The photos show items that floated when the water came in and then floated down the halls when the water went down. What a mess!

In the middle of this stressful situation, it's always helps to find something humorous whenever possible. We found this sign posted in one of the classrooms and had to post it on the front door. Too funny.
